WQED has partnered with Abraham Lincoln Elementary School and South Hills Interfaith Movement (SHIM) to build and sustain a community garden at the school. The garden helps enhance STEAM related content in class as well as community building and altruism. The produce grown from the garden will be donated to SHIM’s food pantry. Families and the larger community have also become involved in the garden and have taken a strong social media presence in order to encourage community engagement.
